Justice for brides left without dress after Oakland County bridal shop closes

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – There was a big step forward in the case of the owner of a Birmingham bridal shop accused of taking their money without delivering wedding gowns.

Birmingham Bridal abruptly closed in June of 2023. Birmingham police said their investigation found the owner, 58-year-old West Bloomfield resident Nadica Ristivojevic, was using funds from new orders to pay for older orders.

In total, victims were defrauded of approximately $40,000 - $50,000.

Ristivojevic was charged with multiple fraud-related charges.

Thursday, Oct. 10, brought a step forward to help those affected by the sudden closure. As the case has moved through the courts, it seems like part of the focus is getting the victims some of their money back.
