Metro Detroit credit union members lose money to spoofing scam

DETROIT – Today I’m working on a very important story because what is happening to these victims could happen to you.

Some are losing their savings over a frightening scam that appears to be growing. I first exposed the problem with this particular bank a few months ago. I was told action would be taken to keep people safer -- not sure if anything was done, unfortunately.

This involves scammers calling you and asking you to verify bank information. Don’t do it. Never share your personal info over the phone. Call your bank back directly! Today I will be talking with police, the victims and the bank. We will have critical information to keep you all safe tonight at 6 p.m.!
